Engines Ready! Care for Your Car at The Park at Winters Run

Our car wash station, which includes vacuums, is just one of the many amenities available for members of our apartment community to use here at The Park at Winters Run. Today we have some tips for getting the most out of this perk — and having the cleanest cars in Bel Air, Maryland.
Cleaning Your Car’s Interior
Whether you start with the inside or the outside of the car is a matter of personal preference, of course, but we’ll start with the inside and follow up next month with tips for cleaning the outside of your car.
-
Remove the clutter. No one likes a dirty car, especially one that’s messy and cluttered on the inside. Take an afternoon to go through your car and get rid of any trash that may be lying on the seats, in seat pockets, and on the floor. Be sure to vacuum afterward.
-
Surfaces can get very dusty in your car, especially if you’re using the air conditioner or heater frequently. First, wipe off surfaces with warm water and an interior car cleaner. Dust may still be lurking from the cloth you used or from dust in the air. Use a coffee filter to wipe up that dust. According to The Krazy Coupon Lady, “Coffee filters are made of a lint-free paper that is perfect for dusting!” Keep them in your car in order to dust when necessary.
-
Use a toothbrush or small brush for dirt and spills. Arm rests, cup holders, and seats can get gross. Wipe off all surfaces with a warm, soapy washcloth. Then use a toothbrush to scrub up extra dirty areas.
-
Utilize a Magic Eraser. Magic Erasers are great tools to use when cleaning many things in your apartment or elsewhere. They work great to clean off surfaces in your car as well. Use them to get rid of grimy spots on the dashboard, armrests, handles, and the inside of car doors.
-
Organize your car. If you keep things in your car, the best way to keep your car clean is by keeping it as organized as possible. Consider investing in a car organizer or netting to keep the items you stow in your car from being tossed around your freshly clean car.
