It's A Movie Marathon

The Park at Winters Run Blog, Bel Air, MD Movie marathons are nothing new, but we've got a new idea about what to watch this time.

Movie marathons are nothing new and holding one in your apartment at The Park at Winters Run is the perfect way to say goodbye to winter for good and welcome spring to Bel Air, MD, but you may be tired of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Twilight Saga.  Why not opt for something a little different?  Try a fairy-tale based movie marathon instead — and we’ve got three suggestions to jumpstart your imagination.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998)

“The ‘real’ story of Cinderella. A refreshing new take on the classic fairy tale.” With dynamic characters, wistful romance, and classic cinematic beauty, this is one movie that will surely stand the test of time and put you in the mood for fairy tales, even if you’re not a fan of them.

Memorable Quote: “You cannot leave everything to fate, boy. She's got a lot to do. Sometimes you must give her a hand.”

Cinderella (2015)

“When her father unexpectedly passes away, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming step-sisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger.” This take on Cinderella captures the sweet disposition of the title character, which could explain why she’s suffered so many years of torment as an orphan. This movie has a different feel to it than Ever After, but it adds something new to Cinderella’s tale, and it’s just as romantic and hopeful as its predecessor.

Memorable Quote: “I have to tell you a secret that will see you through all the trials that life can offer. Have courage and be kind.”

Into the Woods (2014)

“A witch tasks a childless baker and his wife with procuring magical items from classic fairy tales to reverse the curse put on their family tree.” This musical is full of humor, intrigue, a fantastic score, and fairy tales much closer to the original stories than the ones we often see. It also gives a new perspective to wishing for a different life.

Memorable Quote: “I was raised to be charming, not sincere.”
